I recently ordered some new sand on Amazon, Aqua Terra 5lb bag for 10 dollars. And I LOVE how it looks in the tank!!!
I recently had to separate Brent and Puckles because she laid a NEW clutch of eggs and I just can't care for them since I am still raising the hatchlings from late January. (I have let mom and dad both eat the eggs, which seemed to give Puckles a lot of energy after being tired and stressed from laying eggs twice in less than 3 weeks)

My one complaint with the Aqua Terra sand was that you lose a LOT of it when you rinse it out. I lost about 1/4 of the bag and then had a LOT of filth on top, I had to skim the top with a cup to remove a fair amount of floating sand. There are still sand bubbles at the top that are very frustrating, but you can just poke them down.

I also have added Hornwort into both Puckles and Brents tank, as well as little pieces in the hatchlings tubs!

I wouldn't put it in my tanks but I like it!

Any reason as to why you wouldn't use it? I really want white sand, but I haven't been able to find any play sand in white and all of my pet stores have a really sh** (pardon my french) selection of sand. And I wouldn't want to deal with the Aqua Terra again. Rinsing it was very frustrating and I feel like it just has a weird consistency. But I do really enjoy how the color looks!!!
