I got what appears to be a female tiger salamander this past fall just before hybernation. I have been feeding it maily crickets, it appears to be healthy other than possible failing vision. I did not notice it to have had this problem when I got it a few months ago but it now lunges at my hand when I put the crickets in the tank and generally seems to not see them as well as it used to. Could this be due to age or is it something lacking in its diet or lack in humidity, etc? Any and all comments welcome.
Thanks!

PS- i feed it mainly GUT LOADED crickets with calcium supplement. a rare earth worm here and there but it is having a more difficult time seeing them now and gives up easily when unable to catch them. Do Tiger Salamanders shed?

Yes, tiger salamanders shed, and for the feeding issue, put a huge chunk of like ten wriggling earthworms in a dish and put him in it. Even he couldn't miss ten worms in a knot, and he could possibly eat all of them that way. But when he grabs one be sure to take that one out of the knot of worms so he can swallow it.;)
