Dunno if anyone has ever heard of it before, but I'm enjoying one right now. I'll type the label out because you really can't read it all from the photo:

Rare Breed
Blind Salamander Pale Ale

The Texas Blind salamander, Eurycea rathbuni
is a rare cave dwelling troglobite amphibian
native to San Marcos, Hays County, Texas;
specifically the San Marcos Pool of the
Edwards Aquifer. The salamander has two
two external gills for absorbing oxygen in
the water. The salamander's mature length is (can't read this)
cm (5 in). Its diet varies by what flows into the
cave, including shrimp, snails, and amphipods.

The TEXAS BLIND
SALAMANDER

Maybe the coolest little guy you've
never heard of. You may not realize
it, but you're already doing your part
to protect this endangered species
and other Texas wildlife.

Rahr is donating a portion of Rare
Breed sales to the Texas Parks &
Wildlife Foundation to help protect
endangered species in our state.

Rare Breed is Rahr-brewed in Fort
Worth, TX. A truly local brewery,
we're doing what we can to help
preserve the natural state of Texas.

That's very cool Nate. It's good to see you can get drunk and contribute to an endangered species at the same time. Are these sold widely or are they a local thing?

Seems to be just a Metroplex thing at most

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
