So, my axolotl babies hatched about a week ago. One has died, and I have three with huge air masses in their bellies that they need to lay sideways on the bottom of the tank,, is that normal?

All of the Axolotls have been eating, I'm feeding baby brine and they have a constant apply as we'll as I clean out the dead ones every morning and night. They have a large air supply as well,

One of the babies I was curious about since he's smaller than the rests and upon closer inspection I realizes HE HAS NO EYES. I do want to help him as best I can seeing he was born without eyes, any suggestions??

So far I put the eyeless one into a separate tank that's mostly filled with rinsed off brine shrimp and he eats some of them. But he's not eating as much as he should. Any ideas of how I can help him would me great thanks !!

I'm no expert but I found the ones that lay on their side eventually died even after seperating them from the rest and giving them extra attention.

NO EYES?!?!?! Wow! I reckon you should see how it develops first and then figure out whether you think it will have a good enough quality of life without sight. It might be tricky to offload too unless you planned on keeping it yourself. Good luck.

I have heard of eyeless axies before. I've even heard of some that make it to adulthood! The axie that's used in the salt bath tutorial doesn't have eyes like your baby :D
I don't know what special care your little one will need but I thought you might like to know that. ;)
