How do you go about harvesting blackworms? I started a culture in a shoebox a few months ago. I use brown napkins as a substrate with occasional newt pellets added for them to eat. I also have an airstone pumping. The worms have fragmented quite a bit but they are all dispersed in the paper towel. I can't think of how to get them out in any reasonable numbers without ripping up the whole thing and straining them out. They don't cluster up in balls like they did when I first bought them or if they do, its only down at the bottom of the box under layers of paper. The only efficient way I can think is to cut off their oxygen supply for a few hours and turkey baster them out when they come groping up for air in masses. I don't like that idea, however. What are your experiences with this?

I don't personally use the napkin/paper towel method, but you could try putting a plate of some kind(something flat so they can get onto it) and place some more appetizing food(a vegetable or something) in the center of the plate. They'll congregate in the center on the food source. It won't be super fast but it should work.

okay, that sounds like a good idea. Thanks.
