Anyone ever have a black water tank do to almond leaves or driftwood?

What did you experience?
Good things or bad?

Can tannins become toxic?

I do not know of the tannins becoming toxic, but I also did regular water changes.
I personally loved having tannins in my tank, however I do know many who find the darker water to be 'ugly'. I used both driftwood and IAL. I had both a 15g and 29g tank. The 15 gallon I was able to get relatively murky which my beta fish seemed to like, I used both the leaves and wood. the 29 gallon tank only got as dark as very very weak tea, but I still appreciated it, in that tank I was only able to use wood as I had only a couple of leaves.
