How much and how often should I be feeding choped up black worms to my 1 inch larvae? Can you overfeed them or will they stop when they are full and then eat the left over worms when they are hungry again?

My juvies are between 2-5 cm at the moment, and are quite good at eating as much as they want. For the 2cm ones, I tried giving them the the smallest blackworms I could find, and they gulped them down with much jubilation. As to the older ones, I give them what looks like a stomachfull plus a few extra, part squirted into their mouths (With much glee) and part placed into their box to eat when they're hungry later.

Thank you!
Also I have read that the black worms dont foul the water as bad as bbs. Does that go for choped up ones? How often should water changes be done if feeding only black worms?

if you slice through them and not smash them they do not die at all only make smaller ones.

I have balls of black worms in all my tubs for the axys to eat at their leisure

I'm currently feeding chopped bloodworms to my 1-inchers now too :3 I keep mine in on average 7 in 12" x 9" containers. I change the water every 24h 100%, and put freshly chopped bloodworms immediately after changing the water. I leave them in there until the next water change, but remove any chopped bits that start going white/clear several times throughout the day. i also keep an eye on the width of their bodies, and tweezer feed those that aren't as fat as I think they should be.

I raise mine pond style with a clump of java moss and big balls of worms

great info and pics guys.....thanks to all. I have babies that are just starting to eat black worms. It's good to hear you can leave some in their tank. I have been doing this but was unsure if it would cause a prob :)
