Hello. Recently, I have been having trouble with some black algae in my 20 axolotl tank. Some kind of black algae or fungus has taken over the tank. Its all over the walls, on my rocks, and on my driftwood. The tank recieves very little sunlight Thisitself is not a huge problem. The problem is that this algae stuff is clogging up my filter. This reduces the flow of my filter, and has rendered it useless. Now my ammonia is rising, and im not sure what I can do to fix all of it. Any help would be appreciated

Edit: Picture of fungus/Algae

If it's taken over it's time for a tank change. Scrape it off the walls, scrub everything in the tank, scrub the tank , start over with just the axie. I don't know what causes it but if you can find out then change the cause (light?) .
If no one here can help you, I googled "black algae in aquarium" and there was quite a bit of info.

Hey everyone, just want a little advice. Its 55 - 60 celcius in my Salamanders tank. Hes curled up and tyring ti bury himself, Im assuming hes too cold. I was wondering if he would benefit from a heated rock cave (since he LOVES his cave) that I could set on low? I NEVER see him curled up and trying to bury himself unless his tank sits at 63 degrees celcius or lower. So I am assuming hes a little uncomfortable.

He also seems a little sluggish, again, assuming hes cold. Having heating trouble with the new house right now. What do we think? Was thinking of grabbing this for him since its got very low, medium, and higher medium heat settings that exude heat downward inside the rock cave but ALSO exudes it UPWARDS outside of the rock cave, effectively keeping the tank itself a little warm. Seems like it miiiight be a little small for him though, my guy is about 7 inches from tip of his nose tothe tip of his tail.
