for those who dont know i am currently taking a class in biological illustration-but its not what it sounds like -its digital photography of organisms-so i thought i try to post one pic here-this is a different camera than mine -i will try to use mine tonight-since my lab partner took the cam home-i am hoping mine will produce similar results-esp as there is plenty of room and light here in the bio lab. first pic though i wanted to post -there will be much more -is of an under represented salamander here -though ambystomids are not short on photos -mole salamanders are...this pic is only cropped a bit-not doctored in any way.

here is a detail pic of one mole -i may do a few of my pics to have you guys choose the best ones-i have to turn in 10 per assignment -but 6 of those must be of varying photo difference-but the rest are composition...i think that last one is a bit out of focus-im not liking it as much now

Very nice pictures... one day i need to get myself a good quality camera; I'd love to do a lot of macro shots. I would like to take pictures of their eyes!

here is one i like-im going to have to go into photoshop to remove the shine from their eyes though

Stunning pics, Paris. I wish I had an opportunity to take a class like that and acquire such skills. Please do pass along to us some of what you learn!

Indeed, great pictures. Hang in there Paris, we're at your feet now. Feed us some more pictures

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

sorry I am having a hard time trying to upload the pictures- I have them saved on my hard drive... any suggestions-the prompts here are not allowing for downloads that way as far as I can tell. Thanks
