This is our little baby Bilbo, He's just moved from a 1 foot tank to a 3 foot tank.
We've only had him 3 months and he's growing like mad, we're keeping a eye open for a friend for him or her....lol
I will be lowering the water level soon.

Wow - Look at those gills! Fantastic!

I will just say, you might want to remove the snails.
When Bilbo gets bigger, they'll get eaten.

My tank is about that deep, and I fill it to the top - My axies like swimming around I've found, so I wouldn't worry too much :D

Its a good axie that can swallow a full grown apple snail.

that is a absolute awesome tank set up, are those watersprites on the top?

They are called Frogbit, they grow really well in still water, they should cover the surface with in a few months, so that will help cut down the light a bit more.
As for the snails, he doesn't bother with them now, in fact he loves to jump on there backs and grab a ride, will have to try and get some pics sorted.

Looks like a lovely set up, very healthy and the contrast between the sand, rocks and the axie color is thought out well.you seem to be doing well growing the plants, do you do much upkeep on the plants, fertilize them ? im having trouble balancing plants with my axies. great tank , very healthy / looks well ..

Ur axolotl is AMAZING His gills are perfect!!! He should be an axie model!!!! omg the size contrast of his homes! I have a 2 footer so i am so jealous!!!!
is that a moss ball!!! lucky you! i love them! i want one!!!
Ur tank is amazing! Great job! whats that murky white square thing at the top left? is that part of the background? or a reflection? lol
i love ur tank! well done on its pruchase!
u got teesha's tick of approval!

Hi Drew, The plants are all low light types and they seem to flourish in his/her tank, I don't use fertilizer and I just prune them back as and when they need it.

Thanks Teesha, the white square is a reflection of our PC, there are 3 moss balls in the tank and I love them too.

Is there a reason to lower the level? I assumed more would be better.

In my opinion I think axie's prefer deeper water, when i moved my lil family from a shallow tank to a deeper one they loved it!

Although i think it took them a while to adjust to extra pressure of water,
but overall my lil family spends hours a day swimming up to the top and chasing the danio's & white clouds around... Love the tank set-up too! I'm on the hunt for "Frogbit" now!

Waterlettuce is just as good - I use that in Spyyk's tank. It grows fast and absorbs LOTS of nitrates.
It can get quite big, but at least it's easy to remove.

Hey Ricky! Im just wondering.. wich kind of light are you using in your tank? Whats th name of the lamp ect... thanx. I really like it!

Hi Richard! There are 2 x 20w Power Glow lamps, They give off a clear strong light which the plants and Bilbo seem to love.

Thanx! I really like the light. Especially when the floating plants "breaks it up into beams".. Haha, well. Thanx =)
