Here's a 7" (F) A.maculatum rescued from a swimming pool in a highly developed suburban landscape. Often times I find stranded herps while working and usually will place the critter in nearby woods; however I have returned the following week only to find the same sal returned to the pool & drowned.
This spotted was one of the larger examples I've found over the years and I brought her home for rehab & to show my daughter such a great little beast. She has been kept in the enclosure shown and has readily fed on nightcrawlers & butterworms. What girth! lol
