Best way to treat wounds/sores?

I have read you can use dilute iodine or bactine. Any one have any or suggestions or recommend one over the other? I have heard polysporin works well, but it seems hard to apply to the salamanders skin.

Iodine is toxic so i would not consider it as an option. People report good results with Neosporin (without painkillers).

I treated my Kweichow newts with baths in Furan 2 (a fish medication) and neosporin. That was three years ago and no reoccurance of sores.
