Well I recently got a Eastern Tiger Salamander, and I tong fed it a nightcrawler that it ate (after 30mins of snapping and everything). I have it in a tub with dimensions larger than a 10gallon but don't know the exacts. And I was wondering about any easier ways to get the tiger to actually get ahold of the worm. if I put the worm on the substrate it just starts pushing and mushing the worm into the substrate lol. Any advice would be appreciated.

Well, this isn't a way to feed a worm, but I use locust. They are easier to feed with.

I don't really have access to locus

Will he not eat them out of a shallow dish? You can snip the heads off the worms so they don't disappear into the substrate.

Whenever I just leave them out he just like smushes the worm like ramming it into the dirt, but I can try that I guess lol
I've gotten him to eat once last night, he ate a whole worm it just took forever

If he's only young perhaps he needs to learn the best and cleanest way to make a 'kill'. I'm sure his skills will improve soon.

he's got this

So far he's eaten 2 out of 4 that were in the bowl(2 nightcrawlers cut in half) lol

I just open the lid off their tub and all the little heads pop up snapping for food. I dangle a worm towards the side of their faces and they snap them up, thrash around a bit and then impatiently wait for more :D

Honestly I wouldn't worry about feeding him right now, he looks pretty fat to me! Maybe just let him settle in, and then try again, like in a few days. He looks very pretty though, lucky you :) And nice setup!
