Question: Best place to buy an axolotl from?

Hello, I'm new to the community but within 6 months from now I'll be buying a 75 gallon tank and creating a habitat for Axolotls. I don't plan to breed them.

I was wondering if there was a good local breeder to buy from, or if I should purchase online, and if so from which site?

Welcome a 75 gallon tank is great for a bunch of axies! 5 or 6 could live comfortably in there! If you do not plan on breeding definitely make sure you buy axolotls old enough to be sexed so you do not end up with eggs ! I currently have 10 axies, 1 has come from a pet shop, 2 came from people giving them up on Craigslist, and the rest I got from my friend and axolotl breeder Justin. We are in Massachusetts but he ships all over ! His name on facebook is Justin Strew , just tell him ally and sam sent you. I think he has many morphs available right now. Good luck!

i'll definitely keep your friend in mind! My only worry would be that shipping over such a long distance (even overnight) may stress out the axolotl a lot

For teh 75 gallon I only plan on keeping 2-3 so they have lots of room to do their thing.

I think Margie is in Oregon, if I recall correctly, and I have heard very good things about her axolotls. Hopefully, that would be a much faster delivery.
