Upon Visiting a nature reserve today i stumbled upon an amazing site.

around 20 tadpoles in a shallow pool were being devoured by 3 palmate newts.
i only had one concern wouldn't the tadpoles choke the newts?

I´ve seen helveticus, which are the same size or even smaller than vulgaris, eating R.temporaria and B.bufo tadpoles..not fully grown of course, but they didn´t seem to have trouble eating medium sized tadpoles.

I've never seen Palmate newts or the size of the tadpoles they were eating but I readily breed Bufo americanus just so I can feed the tadpoles to my caudates. I have been doing this for 11 years now and I have never had an animal choke on a tadpole.
