Hey Everyone,
I'm looking for the best filter for a 100 litre tank. I know that Axolotls do not like very aerated water and powerful filters can kill axolotls. In fact, I believe it was what killed my Whooper about 4 days ago, as she only died and Murlo didn't. Plus, he/she is now doing great without Whooper so she may have been sick. R.I.P.
Anyway, back to the original question. Murlo, is only small. He is possibly 6" or maybe even smaller. My filter at the moment is a Marina Quick Fit Slim and its powerful enough to push him around and its pretty powerful for an Axolotl.
I need a HOB filter but something that will aerate the water but yet not push him/her around and stress her out as this one is. I hope by doing that, he will come accustomed to the tank! Murlo looks like he enjoys the powerful water but I do not wish the same fate to happen to him as Whooper.
So just to summarise, something with a low power rating, enough to aerate my water and make my axie happy. Also, be powerful enough to aerate the tank for more than one axoltol; I may get some more in the future or even breed. Who knows =)
