I am setting up a 55 gallon aquarium for three axolotls, and am wondering what the best filtration would be. Any suggestions?

I would suggest a canister filter. It's the easiest option and if you use a chiller it'll hook up to it easily. I don't have a particular brand to recommend but for my turtle I use a aquamanta. I also have a small sunsun on my juvenile tank but once I have it filled up I'll probably also hook up a HOB. I also suggest using a sponge filter as well as a canister or HOB.
I would just stay away from any undergravel or internal filters :)

I am currently using a canister filter for my 29 gallon, that I happy with. Will have to see if they make a larger one that will handle 55 gallons.

You shouldn't have an issue finding one for a 55 gallon tank. My turtle tank is a similar size and the canister I'm using isn't the biggest model.

Hello. I just noticed two notches, white small bubbles on the hind legs of one of my male newts.

Hey everyone, just want a little advice. Its 55 - 60 celcius in my Salamanders tank. Hes curled up and tyring ti bury himself, Im assuming hes too cold. I was wondering if he would benefit from a heated rock cave (since he LOVES his cave) that I could set on low? I NEVER see him curled up and trying to bury himself unless his tank sits at 63 degrees celcius or lower. So I am assuming hes a little uncomfortable.

He also seems a little sluggish, again, assuming hes cold. Having heating trouble with the new house right now. What do we think? Was thinking of grabbing this for him since its got very low, medium, and higher medium heat settings that exude heat downward inside the rock cave but ALSO exudes it UPWARDS outside of the rock cave, effectively keeping the tank itself a little warm. Seems like it miiiight be a little small for him though, my guy is about 7 inches from tip of his nose tothe tip of his tail.
