Question: Best black sand

What's the safest black sand I can use in an axolotl tank? I would prefer sand that could allow plant growth, too. Thanks!

Petco brand black sand! I love mine, minimal rinsing and it looks great and I do have plants in it in a different tank with no axies and they grow great.

The fish group I'm in uses black sand blasting sand. They get it from home improvement stores, for like 7$for 50 lbs. I've never used it though, but it is something to look into if you need a lot of sand for cheap.

I was looking into black Tahitian sand but I read too many negative things about it. I went with white sand instead, the same fine sand I use for my Corydoras, since I trust it.
