Has anyone had any success with caudates taking bean weevils (I'm looking at you Mark ;-) ? If so, which species?

My Eurycea and smaller Desmognathus will take them. I also had success feeding them to Calotriton juveniles. They're certainly not top of my list of feeders but it's good to offer a variety. Small beetles form a sizable proportion of insecta found in wild newt stomach analysis. I think newts accustomed to the luxury of soft bodied prey (often delivered on tweezers direct to mouth, aah bliss) will turn their nose up at them.

They dissapear very slowly in my tanks. The only species probably not eating them are my juvenile marmoratus. I will monitor it more closely now I heard that they are very nutricious.
