Hi, i just wanted to recommend everyone the new BBC series of documentaries called "Life". It´s recorded in the most mindblowing HD. As an extra bonus, it´s narrated by Sir David Attenborough :)
I have yet to see any footage of caudates, which is sad, but there are some fascinating anuran scenes.
Note to John: there´s some footage of Pyxicephalus adspersus that i´m sure you´d enjoy.

All in all this is a series that although it shuffles from animal to animal rather quick, it shows breathtaking, goseebump giving, inmensely beautiful scenes. Plus some of the behaviours depicted are trully expectacular and never seen before in a production such as this.

I really must stress how incredibly beautiful some of the scenes are. It trully makes you see nature with new, fascinated eyes.

Thanks for the recommendation! I started watching some YouTube videos from the series, and it's truly amazing! Attenborough is an awesome broadcaster!

By the way I take this topic to ask a question, it has everything to do! Here in Portugal there is very little time, roughly a month ago, went on cable TV a very interesting program, entirely dedicated to newts and salamanders. The presenter / naturalist rode traveled the world in search of the most poisonous salamander, and also the greatest of all. Already picked up the middle but still delirious and traveled! Did any of you know that program is not? For love to see it completely! ;)
Thanks

Great stuff indeed, although Caudates are conspicuous by their absence :(. I have not been able to watch them all as they were aired, but had a great bing on the BBC iPlayer last week end, 5 episodes in one afternoon!

Dad bought the box set for the family to watch around christmas the other day : )

Amazing footage, i also recommend 'Blue Planet' for the marine enthusiasts as well ;)

That´s another excelent documentary series.
I´ve seen most (all?) BBC series in which David Atennborough either narrates, or stars in, and they are all brilliant. Even the old series, with very low quality image, are fascinating and full of amazing info an wildlife scenes.

I agree 100% with Azhael, BBC Life is a must see (and Atennborough is great).
Now having these available in HD just makes it all the more amazing.

Niall has also made the excellent suggest of Blue Planet which again is simply inspiring. Planet Earth is also a major budget production by BBC that I would encourage everyone to watch.

Ahhh, Planet Earth. I'd forgotten about that, I'll have a look on ebay for the dvd's  Cheers

I own the British Blu-Ray version of Planet Earth. 1080p is very nice!
