Hello all, i thought i had it all planned out and researched for my newt but i returned home to discover:

-The soil i had intended to use had been used to fill in a hole in the yard by one roommate,
and my deer park water was taken to work by my landscapeing technicain/groundskeeper of a roommate

-Will peat moss (moisited and packed) and dannon water be fine for a mandarian for a hour or so untill i can get a hold of some deerpark?

He'll have plenty of hideing places.

ive had mine for weeks on damp paper towles(changed daily) in a critter keeper, i use filtered water to moisten it, they arent as sensitive to tap water as aquatic species and larvae are

Yes, damp paper towels will be better than peat moss. Peat can be very acidic. Dechlorinated tap water should be fine.
