Hey guys, ive been experiencing a bacterial bloom in my tank for around 2 weeks and its gotten pretty bad, i can hardly even see from one end of the tank to the other through the water. Earlier i was doing a water change like once a day but i read somewhere that doing that many water changes promotes the bacteria to multiple even more and worsening the bloom...

Is there anything i should be doing or any way to make this bacterial bloom go away? my axxie doesnt seem very affected by it but for his sake i want to clear it up as soon as possible :/

thankss

it is very natural in new tanks. In the past I have always cleared it up with multiple water changes over the time span of a week or so. It is not harmful, just ugly

oh so shld i continue with the water changes? i read somewhere that these bacteria multiply super quickly and if u replace the water, it kinda makes them multiply more :/

I had this happen to me with my 55 gal. I just kept the water changes to a minimum and after a while it went away. It may take several weeks to several months to clear. Just be sure to keep a careful eye on your readings.

Im thinking about siphoning out the feces from the substrate tday and then just replacing the water, think this is wise? I havent changed the water in bout 5-6 days and im seeing no improvement so far... Im hoping that when i siphon the substrate it should clear faster

Not changing the water wont help.... Keep doing water changes to keep the Ammonia levels down if your tank is new and not fully cycled yet... the cloudyness will eventually dissapear.
