Baby with air bubble.... not small

1 of my babies got an air bubble in its belly over night but the air bubble is HUGE!

its about 3mm width and the baby is only 2.5cm.

should i put the poor thing out of his misery? he cant keep himself upright and cant catch any food so he will almost definately die of starvation if the bubble doesnt pop and kill him first.

oppinions please.

also i have some very tiny sterile needled (0.2mm)
should i have a go at releasing the air first or would this not be good?

definitely don't pop it! Separate him and lower the water enough so he doesn't float or tip over, one of mine got a big food bubble, stuffed itself and it was huge, and similar happened - its same size as yours. I put him in fridge, as we've had really hot temps. He was okay in a couple of days, stomach went down. As long as you keep water low and cool should help not necessarily fridge him.

Mine usually get an air bubble if the shrimp don't hatch on time and they go without food for longer than normal.

He died of his own accord. I lowered the water but the bubble was hindering his movement too much for him to eat. thanks for the help.

Larvae will often recover from an air bubble on their own (it just goes away), but this sounds like a particularly advanced case. I wish I knew what causes bubbles to form in larvae, it's not uncommon.
