Soo, my axolotl laid eggs about two weeks ago and I recently noticed that one of the babies isn't in an egg. It's in late development stages and has tiny gills and stuff but I have no idea what to do. The first day I noticed him, he was motionless and then started squirming around and I've looked today and he can swim?! Will he live? Or...

He may do, he might not...
Axies sometimes don't move for 24-48 hours when they first hatch, it's very disconcerting!

The best thing you can do is move him to his own tub, and give him some BBS.

I 'artificially' hatched a couple of mine early by sucking them up in my siphon - they are now 7 weeks old and doing fine.

Hatching isn't an exact science anyway - it may well be a natural early hatching and the others will follow quickly. Mine hatched at days 13-17.

Hello. I just noticed two notches, white small bubbles on the hind legs of one of my male newts.

Hey everyone, just want a little advice. Its 55 - 60 celcius in my Salamanders tank. Hes curled up and tyring ti bury himself, Im assuming hes too cold. I was wondering if he would benefit from a heated rock cave (since he LOVES his cave) that I could set on low? I NEVER see him curled up and trying to bury himself unless his tank sits at 63 degrees celcius or lower. So I am assuming hes a little uncomfortable.

He also seems a little sluggish, again, assuming hes cold. Having heating trouble with the new house right now. What do we think? Was thinking of grabbing this for him since its got very low, medium, and higher medium heat settings that exude heat downward inside the rock cave but ALSO exudes it UPWARDS outside of the rock cave, effectively keeping the tank itself a little warm. Seems like it miiiight be a little small for him though, my guy is about 7 inches from tip of his nose tothe tip of his tail.
