Hello :)
Could someone please give me some advice .
I have three adult axolotls , i've had them around three years with no problems .
I recently was given some wild type axoltol eggs from a friend and now have 25 babies who are around 2 weeks old .
I've noticed some of them have some strange bright red colour behind their gills , i was wondering if this is normal , or if there is something wrong as not everyone of them has it .
They're fed on bbs , and are kept in tubs with around 4/5 babies in each one , they have daily 50% water changes ( with de-chlorinated water ) , and a plant in each one for oxygen .
Could someone please tell me what these red marks are , as im quite worried .

Here's some pictures of them ,you can see the red marks quite clearly :

Thankyou

That red mark is one of their organs - can't remember which one but I remember seeing it on here before. So nothing to worry about :) Baby axies are soo cute I wish I had got my ones that little

I replied to the thread on the introductions area, but for the benefit of anyone else asking the same question, I'll add my reply here too ;)

The heart is on the axie's left + the liver is on the right, both can be seen through the skin of tiny axies - if fed on bloodworms, you can see the stomach as red too ;)
Here's a link to the biology page of axolotl.org, which shows a "cut-away" diagram of an axie body - Axolotls - Biology

Thankyou :D)

Yeah they are lovely little things ^^
