Advice needed I have just bought two very tiny morphed alpine newts. sadly one has since died and now i am over anxious for the other little one. Think the stress of travelling was just too much.
He spends all his time on the side or the top of the plastic weed. I have tons of daphnia in with him but as he is on the weed i am wondering does he go into the water as that is where the food is. I dangled a minute little worm infront this morning and interested was certainly shown.
So come on you experts any help will be good help.

I would start out with a very shallow set-up. It´s clearly stressed and unlikely to go into deep water, so keeping it in shallow water would prevent drowning and make the transition to the new home easier.
Make sure to have lots of plants, adequate temperatures and a shady, quite place for it.
Keep trying with the earthworms, but don´t insist too often with food as that wil only cause stress. If it doesn´t eat for a few days, i´d try waxworms.

Thanks I have removed some of the water as I have a brilliant natural rock which has lots of holding parts and crevices. The baby has spent some time on there as well. I waggled another small worm in front of it this morning. Have ordered a grindal culture but waiting for it to arrive. There is still tons of daphnia in the tank to eat if desired.
