In the beginning, my pet count was 9: 3 Axolotls, 1 Blood Python, 1 Ball Python, 1 Lesser Siren, 2 Tiger Salamanders and 1 Cat. Now my pet count is about 503 Axolotls.

There are only about 1/3 of the babies in those pictures. They're spread out on my dining room table in four tanks at the moment. The father is leucisitc and the mother is wildtype.

I may or may not be putting up an advertisement later to sell them, depending on whether or not I can get give them away locally.

LOL
Oh MY!!!!!!

You've got quite a large family there Dot!!!!
Good luck with all your new babies

WHOA! thats a lot of axies.

What colouring are they turning out like?

This time last year, I had over 1500 eggs, (from TWO breeding females, one of whom laid twice in once season - an accident on my part) so the 500 or so is a godsend.

I'm assuming that they're primarily all going to be wildtype, though a handful of babies are getting lighter and lighter by the day. I'm partial to leucistics, so I may end up keeping a few of them.

So far, out of 500 or so hatchlings, I've only had to cull two larvae, which is a blessing and a curse, because that means they're healthy, but I've got more healthy babies to find homes for.

matt since ur posting u should register and congrats on axies

Congratulations, Dot! Good luck with all the little ones. Maybe you could sell them at some herp event.

Congrats Dot! That is a lot to handle. Best of luck with the little ones.

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
