So my oldest baby was 9 weeks old yesterday and he is quite large (can measure him if needed but don't want to stress him). I was wondering if he would be big enough at this age to have a sand substrate at all? I'll put a feeding jar/dish in for him when feeding earthworms/bloodworms just to be on the safe side.

If it helps I had my babies on fine sand when they were about that age could have been a little younger. They were 5cm, were growing their back legs and were happily seeking out their non living food all on their own. Within days they were finding the live blackworm that was in the sand quite happily too and I've had no issues at all.

Thank you :) It does help! I chopped up a bit of worm earlier and s/he happily tucked into it and has been seeking out frozen bloodworm for a while. Has fully formed back legs so sounds like it should be fine :D I'll post some pics when I have the sand, thinking lime green to accompany my little khaki fella :)

I'm glad it helped  Sounds like it should be fine now then

ooooh lime green with a khaki axie, I like the sound of that

LOL I've re-axiescaped my little 10 gallon for my 3 little runts. Their 4 months old and the length of my little finger but fully formed. The Just seemed to stop growing at the 2 month mark but continued to develop  Their siblings have a good 10cm on these little guys and I figured since they had made it this long without being eaten (I really thought they would have been weeks ago) I'd give them some more attention and their own tank.
The tank has gone from Black to White and bright purple and I'm loving it! I like the bright colors so I'm sure yours will look amazing with the green. Can't wait to see the pics. :D

I love the bright colours too :D Going for purple in my main tank and orange in my leucies one when I get the cash :) all my plants are brightly coloured too :D

I have purple in my tank, it looks really good. Mine was from the 99p shop if that helps with the cash flow. Your tanks sound awesome :)

I think I'll have to go have a nose in our local £ shops then as you're the second person who has had it for that price :) Out of curiosity, where about are you from?

I'm in Surrey. Have heard that some of the other 99p shops had other colours as well, although the one near to me only had purple. Oo, it's the 99p shops not the pound shops that have it.

It's a really nice purple, even better at the price :)
