Axolotls: The gateway salamander.

So I've been keeping axolotls for a few years and find them interesting and easy to maintain. I'm thinking about "stepping it up" and getting another type of salamander. They would be in a 40 gallon breeder. Preferably fully aquatic but land/water setup could be arranged.
 
Tiger salamanders are great "first time" terrestrial salamanders but they don't need deep water. A terrestrial set up with moist substrate and a shallow pool (no more than a couple of inches deep) at one end is easily maintained. Have a look on Caudata culture: Caudata Culture Caresheets
