I’m since 3,5 months owner of 2 beautiful axolotls 1 is a male Leucistic & a femal melanoid at first i wasn’t sure my mel was a female on till I found myself in the middle of the night starring at the first clutch of eggs layed. ![Hugging face :hugging: 🤗](https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/joypixels/assets/8.0/png/unicode/64/1f917.png)
It’s her first time laying and most people said that the first clutch of eggs doesn’t hatch or are bad.
I found it's so sad to just throw them away or freeze them, so I very carefully removed them from the plants and collected everything in a smaller aquarium. Her first nest consisted of a total of 55 eggs. Which 3 eggs did not develop further 13 hatched on their own but 3 babies did not make it they seemed to have a kind of jelly-like mucus over their heads.
Which immediately made me think that they were babies in distress of fully hatching themselves. I've been very careful with one mission to save the babies and help them hatch out of their eggs. They were already 15 days old so ready to be born. I immediately started feeding them with brine shrimp.
We are now on day 7 and the babies are growing and eating.
So glad I didn't leave the babies to their fate. I now have 49 babies but someone said mel and lucy only produce wild babies. It looks like it but with some I have my very strong doubts whether I only have wild babies. I add a video and photos they are so much cute![Smiling face with hearts :smiling_face_with_3_hearts: 🥰](https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/joypixels/assets/8.0/png/unicode/64/1f970.png)
Thank you in advance
