Hello,
So situation here is like that. We got this axolotl from previous owners. This axoloth has strange lump near his gill on a side of his head. Story behind this that might be helpful is that previous owners wanted to show this individual some wild life and gave him fish from a outside pond and after a while after axolotl ate the fish that strrange lump appeared.
We were wondering if this might be cancer or parasite or mabe something else and how to treat it if possible.
I ve added some pictures
I appreaciate any suggestions.
Thank you :)

I haven't seen this before. Maybe take here or him to the vet. It could possibly be a tumor. Vet is the safest and is the only thing to do. Otherwise I don't really know.

I agree with Aristole, vet would be the best option.

I have once fed a piece of baby shrimp to my axie and it scratched her throat creating a bump lump of inflammation. In worst case scenario your axie has a tumour else it is a large inflammation. Poor buddy the gills are so shrivelled now.

Just wondering how your axolotl is doing. Hopefully you could find a vet who could help it?

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
