Does anyone know how to stop axolotl's throwing up red wrigglers? I know they aren't popular in taste for them but I'm running out of options. I rinsed it with hot water and fed it to her and she threw it up. I cut it up in different lengths and everything. She ate about 1 worm (cut up into 3 pieces) and threw them all up. I've been doing this over the course of 3 days, but no luck. Is there another way for her to down red wrigglers without throwing them up? I have no access to blackworms, which her breeder had been feeding her. I can get nightcrawlers but I'm afraid even if I cut it up it'll be too big. I've been looking for videos of the axolotl's her size eating night crawlers, but I can either only find an adult or bigger juvenile axolotls eating them. Any other options of food I can try? Or methods for her to be able to down red wrigglers?

PSA:
She doesn't like pellets or bloodworms (She doesn't even try to eat them)
Red wrigglers are as far as I've gotten since I got her 5 days ago (She hasn't eaten in 5 days)

Just stop red wrigglers. Feeding an animal with things they don't like is not an option.

Pellets : there are several types of pellets. I use sturgeon pellets when I can't find nightcrawlers.
Slugs and snails (without the shell) are also well accepted.

I got her to eat bloodworms. The first couple of days I got her she rejected them but it might've been due to the stress of shipment. Now she's eating bloodworms without a problem. Thanks! Hopefully, when she's older I can get her on a red wriggler diet for nutrition, but for now, bloodworms are the only thing she'll eat.

Red wigglers secrete a bad taste as a self defense and in my experience some axolotls will straight up refuse them because of this. You can try chopped nightcrawlers, which don't secrete any nasty stuff. All of my axies go crazy for nightcrawlers. :)

Thank you! I’ll try nightcrawlers eventually My mom is tired of me ordering different foods for her 😭 she’s been eating bloodworms and it doing great ! Do you think she’s big enough for nightcrawlers? I know the worms are pretty large.

I think she'd be just fine on nightcrawlers. :) Just make sure you cut them into prices no wider than between her eyes. You'll only need about 4-5 small pieces, not entire worm quite yet.

Alright thank you!
