Hello, I’ve fed my axolotl big worms before, but I tried doing it today and as you can read by the title, didn’t go as well. I tried cutting it into 3 prices but before I got the last cut she went for the entire thing. After 3-4 minutes she was looking alright, but when I went to do something and came back 4 minutes later, there was another worm in there mysteriously. She tried to eat it again so I got it out of the water, she looks like she’s doing alright now but im just concerned because I’m a new parent, and I haven’t seen her do this before. What should I do, I have bloodworm cubes still, so should I go back to those? If anyone is wondering about her size and age, she’s around 2-3 months old, maybe 4-5 inches in length, bare bottom tank, and the worms I think are earthworms.

I forgot to mention, the worm may have been to big for her, but I mostly just want to know if I should go back to bloodworms or give her smaller worms

do not go back to bloodworms. those are basically like feeding them potato chips since theres very little nutritional value. If shes been ok with earthworms before, then it's probably that it was just to big for her. Sometimes if they eat too much or too fast, they will end up coughing them back up. It's not an issue unless its happening frequently. Just try cutting it into smaller pieces first before feeding.
