Hello I have a albino juvenile axolotl who sometimes I think gets very bored and lonely.i am considering getting a wild type axie for £18 from a aquatic centre. I have a 24L
Tank right now and he is got a lot of room the dimensions are 40x25.5x28. How much bigger would I have to go and what price range.

Thank you
Jake

For 2 axolotls, adult dimension tank size minimum would be a 20g LONG: 30" x 12" x 12". I wouldn't bother getting an "in between" tank. Look around at your local used classified site.. kijiji, gumtree, or whichever is used in the UK for a cheap, used tank. You may not find a 20g long, more likely to find a larger tank like a 30g which would be better for them anyways. I'm not sure how much they cost in the UK, but used is your best bet for cheaper. The bigger the tank, the less likely your axies will get sick when something happens with the water parameters.

Since they can reach a maximum of 17" (though they average around 10") and are bottom dwellers it's important to have a large footprint. They 10-15+ years, so it's not fair to keep them cramped. :)
