My daughters axolotl hasn’t been eating the red worms that I was told he should be eating. He will bite them and then spit them out and show no interest in it! The place I got it said he should be eating 1-2 worms daily but hasn’t touched them for a week now. I haven’t given him anything else and read about pellets for juvenile and adult axolotls…should I be giving him pellets? He is about 6-8 inches long. Any suggestions would be helpful!

Try blanching the worms. I have heard that stressed worms emit odors which axolotls don't like. A worm underwater gets stressed. If I'm not mistaken, blanching the worms involves running hot water over them then dipping them in cold water to cause a quick death.

if he is regurgitating the worms then it could be the wriggling causing discomfort, chopped the worms into half and quarters should help solve this issue, if he is releasing them after biting them then it could be the taste as axolotl don't like bitter things, washing and blanching them should help, if he still shows no interest try a different food source.
