Hey guys my axolotl(got him for around 4 months) hasn't been eating or pooping for 3 weeks now. I fridge him for 3 weeks straight and he is still not pooping. I feed him shrimp and pellets usually. His stomach is bloated. He refuses to eat. Before he got sick, the 20 gallon long tank has 0ppm of ammonia, nitrite, nitriate. Water temperature is at 18°C. I have no gravels in the tank. His bottom of the stomach has this white little circle. He is not getting better. Today when I checked, he seems to lean on to the other side more( loose balance) I don't know what to do now. Does anyone know this situation??

It's bloated, could be anything from liver failure to an intestinal blockage, it needs a vet

Thanks for replying. I have been looking for vet in NYC. I don't know if they are specialized for axolotl. Do you know any vet in NYC?

Hello. I just noticed two notches, white small bubbles on the hind legs of one of my male newts.

Hey everyone, just want a little advice. Its 55 - 60 celcius in my Salamanders tank. Hes curled up and tyring ti bury himself, Im assuming hes too cold. I was wondering if he would benefit from a heated rock cave (since he LOVES his cave) that I could set on low? I NEVER see him curled up and trying to bury himself unless his tank sits at 63 degrees celcius or lower. So I am assuming hes a little uncomfortable.

He also seems a little sluggish, again, assuming hes cold. Having heating trouble with the new house right now. What do we think? Was thinking of grabbing this for him since its got very low, medium, and higher medium heat settings that exude heat downward inside the rock cave but ALSO exudes it UPWARDS outside of the rock cave, effectively keeping the tank itself a little warm. Seems like it miiiight be a little small for him though, my guy is about 7 inches from tip of his nose tothe tip of his tail.
