So I have 2 axolotls in a temporary tank till their tank cycles (it's at the end and almost ready) and I'm doing 100% water changes everyday on the smaller tank since there's no filter and it's not cycled.
One of my axolotls I noticed has been floating a lot more lately and it's gotten to the point to where (s)he is near the top 70% of the time and comes down to eat and such. Sometimes I notice it's cause there's a bubble in its tummy, (after (s)he goes up for air) and other times (s)he can get down perfectly fine. My other axolotl however is perfectly fine and will stay at the bottom other than to go up for air. I've just noticed that my other axolotl has been staying at the top a lot, and will not always really be at the top but will sit on say the top of the plant or the leaf stand I have that's close to the top. Anyone know why (s)he may be doing this? (S)he just floats so much easier than my other axolotl when (s)he goes up for air. They're both 3 1/2 in so they're quite small and if u can't tell, I can't tell their gender so I keep using (s)he lol
My other question is they eat a lot of bloodworms when I feed them and I was gonna start them on earth worms when they're ready, can I just buy the ones from say a fishers market? Can I use ones I find in the grass if I wash them? And my biggest question is how big do I cut them? I'm scared I'll cut it too big and they will choke. Keep in mind they're both 3 1/2 in.
