Hi, here is my newt set up for axolotl.
It's a 120 litters aquarium.

Nice scape. One thing I would say is, axolotl will probably not use the floating wood to perch on. They also like "cave" areas. I would say you on on a great start for an axolotl house. I would also probably remove those tiny stones also, axolotl may want to eat them. None the less, it is on the way to being a great house.

Hi AnnMarie and thank for your compliments.

First the wood was supposed to be drown in the water but it's floating. I thought I should remove it but the thing is that my Axolotl is spending most of his time under that one.
For the small stones, the smallest one in that tank is about 3 cm large, do you think it could be a danger for my animal?

I think the best thing to do is just take all the stones out, to be on the safe side! It looks fine with just the sand!

tank look's great ...think my next tanks gonna have sand bare bottom look's so boring.

:) looks ace, are the plants real? if so, what are they?

Great aquarium. That emerged Anubias looks very nice!

Yes those are anubias!
Sorry I'm a bit slow to answer ;)
I removed all the stone witch could have been eaten.
And thandks for the compliments! :)

Well, nice setup- the reason that the wood is floating, I think, is that if you got it from a store it might still have chemicals, or even if its not from a store- try leaving it in some water in a bowl for a few days and see if it will sink and yellow chemicals or something will come off, but I would take it out because the chemicals, if it has them, it may be very toxic!

Driftwoods will often leach tannins into the water, but these aren't dangerous in small quantities.

This thread is also 3 months old.

The wood is still floating and I had it from an old fish keeper who didn't use it since maybe ten tears...

*Yea, I really should read the dates lol*
Like ten years? lol, um, I dont know.....lol- i dont know much, i just like to try and be smart lol...:p

:p Actually I removed that wood today to put it in my Cynops tank.
I'll post some pictures when I'll do some. ;)

Great! How big is the tank? I love looking at pictures.

I think your Axolotl was hiding under the log because it wanted to escape from the light. Do you have alternative hiding places now that the wood is gone?
