Hello! I’m sorry for posting much, but I wanna know something.

My axolotl ( female ) has some kind of red stuff I think is blood..

I’m not sure what caused it or if she got into a fight but I have a picture!

the filaments on the gill stems are very delicate and because the veins are close to the surface very easy to catch and bleed, this is more noticeable on albinos/goldens/lucies then on mels/wild, keep an eye to make sure that the bleeding has stopped, because of how small the area is it will be difficult to see if it it is healing.
keep the water cold (shouldn't need fridging) and the water parameters/chemistry good to allow for optimum healing conditions.

Likely just a blood vessel as wolfen said. You were told to get her to a vet though. Have you taken proactive measures to do this yet???

Hey everyone, just want a little advice. Its 55 - 60 celcius in my Salamanders tank. Hes curled up and tyring ti bury himself, Im assuming hes too cold. I was wondering if he would benefit from a heated rock cave (since he LOVES his cave) that I could set on low? I NEVER see him curled up and trying to bury himself unless his tank sits at 63 degrees celcius or lower. So I am assuming hes a little uncomfortable.

He also seems a little sluggish, again, assuming hes cold. Having heating trouble with the new house right now. What do we think? Was thinking of grabbing this for him since its got very low, medium, and higher medium heat settings that exude heat downward inside the rock cave but ALSO exudes it UPWARDS outside of the rock cave, effectively keeping the tank itself a little warm. Seems like it miiiight be a little small for him though, my guy is about 7 inches from tip of his nose tothe tip of his tail. Had a question that I just want to be sure of. My marbled newt is a little over a year old and has started to develop and I noticed that he is starting to swell a little below his abdomen. I guess I’d like to know if they are his testes or if I need to be concerned.
