Axolotl eggs

Hi My axolotl has just laid her first eggs, but they are brown. I thought they should be white. The parents are both white with black eyes. Can anyone advise please? Thanks

Is the whole egg(s) brown or just the middle.
The jelly stuff around it should be clear.

Thank you for your reply.. the centre was just brown with clear jelly around. I have just updated by message as the eggs are going cloudy . I don't think they were fertilized. The parents are quiet young still. Thanks anyway

My White babies (black eyes) came from brown eggs.
I've also just had some golden albinos from brown eggs too.

HI,

the color of the eggs depends on the color of the female axie (mother). If she is an albino (white or golden) the eggs will be white - if she is a wildtype or leucistic, the eggs will be dark.

But the coloration of the larvae has nothing to do with the color of the eggs.
