Re: axsol eggs

Hello Claire.

The eggs are most likely fertilized, just watch their development.

Have you been to axolotl.org? There is a page that has a photo diary of axolotl egg stages. This can be seen here: http://axolotl.org/embryo_series.htm It may also be beneficial to read past postings to gain knowledge of these animals and may even answer questions that you may have before you need to ask them.

These animals are known as "axolotls" and not "axsol's" please make sure you are using the correct term when posting. Also, this forum has a policy regarding grammar and punctuation. This policy is in effect to help all people understand what is being said. Please be aware of the rules.

Re: axsol eggs

I will move this thread to the axolotl section of the forum.

Re: axsol eggs

Hi there, and welcome. Those eggs are fertilized and will hatch and have to be removed from the tank when hatched as the adults will eat them. So unless your into breeding axolotls, the adult axolotls will take care of the problem for you. otherwise read up on breeding axolotls.

Will the parents not eat the eggs? And is it okay for the adults to eat the hatchlings?...As long as they don't stuff themselves?

I am just curious in case I end up with a breeding pair. I won't have room to take care of all the eggs and the chance that they all survive and then end up with dozens of babies!

Re: axsol eggs

Hi Jen. It's ok if they eat the hatched axolotls. I'm not exactly sure if they eat the eggs, but they will eat the babies once they have hatched. Good Luck. Carol.

Travis only told you to use proper grammar on this site because it's written in the forum rules. It isn't just your spelling that is inappropriate (I'm sorry, but if you look at the top of any page of the forum you'll see the word "axolotl" spelled properly, it's even up there 3 times on this particular page). Using punctuation in place of words is also not acceptable like using "?" in place of the word "question", saying "every 1" instead of "everyone". Someone reading this in Germany who doesn't speak the best English would get a headache trying to comprehend what is going on in your posts. No one was trying to be hurt your feelings, just telling the truth.

Good luck with your eggs.

Um, not ALL of us....
Hehe, I was waiting for that. Help prove me wrong by encouraging everyone else there to not be lazy with their English.

i would like to say sorry for my grammar and punctuation i hope it does not cause anymore problems thank you.x

You shouldn't need to appologise for dyslexic, unfortunately it's the state of the English language at the moment, I work at a college and we get entire essays written in text speak, as the Mother of a teenager I often receive texts that make no sense to me whatsoever.

I was discussing this with my husband last night, and we were wondering whether these same coversations occured when the language changed from (for want if a better word) Shakespearian English to modern English. So is this text speak the 'English' of the future? It's all very well whilst we are alive to keep the 'correct current' language alive but what when we have gone? I shudder at what the language will become (but I expect so did Shakespeare).

Hey everyone, just want a little advice. Its 55 - 60 celcius in my Salamanders tank. Hes curled up and tyring ti bury himself, Im assuming hes too cold. I was wondering if he would benefit from a heated rock cave (since he LOVES his cave) that I could set on low? I NEVER see him curled up and trying to bury himself unless his tank sits at 63 degrees celcius or lower. So I am assuming hes a little uncomfortable.

He also seems a little sluggish, again, assuming hes cold. Having heating trouble with the new house right now. What do we think? Was thinking of grabbing this for him since its got very low, medium, and higher medium heat settings that exude heat downward inside the rock cave but ALSO exudes it UPWARDS outside of the rock cave, effectively keeping the tank itself a little warm. Seems like it miiiight be a little small for him though, my guy is about 7 inches from tip of his nose tothe tip of his tail.
