Hi!

I have 3 axolotls, recently I finally came to figure out their respectic gender.
I am officialy the owner of 2 males and 1 female, whom laid eggs all over the tank for the first time.
Even so it was pretty cute to watch how she would hug the plants, I was actually freaking out about the amount of work for getting rid of them.
I do not intend on raising more axolotls, and was already planning on separating them.
It just happened faster than I thought.

I have looked everywhere online for answers for this kind of situation but most of the topics were for breeders.
This is why I thought it might help, to make this post.

First of all, my female laid eggs for 3 days, which was enough time for me to realize it was happening.
Then, cleaning was messy. Those eggs are kept in a kind of highly viscuous liquid, like...thick ammiotic liquid.
Cleaning was the hardest on live plants, because the eggs were literally glued to them and their roots.
I even found eggs in the filter ahahah.
Eventually, I gathered all the eggs in a ziplog bag and froze them for a week. I was not sure about the amount of time, so I played it safe.

Now, I don't think I will eventually separate them, unless the female starts to lay eggs more often.
I have also read somewhere that, female need to lay eggs from time to time, for health reason (is that true? no idea...) so for safety I dont want to go against it.
Since I am pretty new with axolotls, I might come back to this post and document any change. But so far so good ;)
