Axolotl cut his lip

Recently, I saw that my axolotl cut his lip while I was feeding him worms. I'm pretty sure it was the metal pincers fault as the cut wasn't visible before feeding. I have had my albino gold for a year now and I have never had anything like this happen to him. Yes, he gets the occasional bruise or sometimes the other axolotl I have will bite him but he recovers quickly. Back to the point, I observed that he had gotten quite a deep cut on his lip and it was bleeding slightly. I googled on what to do if something like this happens but all I found was just to leave him be and heal on his own. I will attach an image of the cut.

Ok thank you. I checked the water not that long ago and everything was ok. The only other problem might be feeding him tommorow. I'll try to give him smaller pieces of worm. Thanks again.
