Hi everyone, I’m a new axolotl mom and I’m constantly worried that my axolotl is sick and I’m not reading the signs correctly. This is a picture of his tail...is this the type of curled tail that would indicate him being sick? I just changed his water today (the same day this picture was taken) and all of the parameters are in check. His tail also doesn’t stay like this all of the time, when he’s swimming around or adjusting his position it straightens out. Any advice/info would be great thank you!

what are the parameters

temp
ph
high range ph
ammonia
nitrite
nitrate

what water conditioner are you using

how long has tank been set up?
how big is tank?

Going off the previous comment, are they showing any other symptoms? Lack of appetite, itchiness, thrashing, increased lethargy, etc? If your parameters are fine and he’s not showing other symptoms then your probably safe. Sometimes mine sit like that to get comfortable.

Sorry for late response, he wasn’t showing any other symptoms and all of his water parameters were in appropriate ranges. I’ve changed his water once more since this, and he’s been acting pretty normal. His tail does curl up sometimes but I’ve noticed it’s only when he’s tucked away in a corner. Otherwise, when he’s swimming or perched up on his rock his tail is straight. He’s also eating every time I feed him and his gills and skin look good. I think he’s okay, but I always get so worried about him. Thanks for the help :)
