Axolotl colouring, how to obtain golden axolotls

Hi

I was just wondering what genes are required to give birth to golden axolotls, is it just random or do some types of axolotls have more chance of giving birth to golden axolotls?

I have a leusistic and a melanoid and was wondering if they could give birth to goldens or should j buy golden axolotls to give birth to them? also wondering if golden axolotls with a whitish hue (mix of golden and leusistic?) are just aslimely to produce pure golden axolotls?

It depends on what they are het for, you would have to know the colors of the grandparents.

Golden albino axolotls are a/a, D/-.

You COULD get goldens from a melanoid and a leucistic, but I wouldn't hold out hope. Even if both adults are recessive for albino, you'll still only get 25% albino offspring. If your melanoid is recessive for leucistic, then half of those 25% would be white and half would be golden. If your melanoid is not a carrier for leucistic, then they would all be albino.

Pale goldens are still goldens, and are not a 'mix' of two colors. Axolotl color genetics don't work that way.
