I have a question about axie colors. I have 4 leuistic larvae. Three of them look "normal" with dark eyes and the white body.

I have one however, that has a more freckled shiny head and some shine on his torso which the others do not have. Also, instead of just having dark eyes, he seems to have a shiny ring around the dark part. I'm just wondering if this is some sort of normal coloring or something? Or something wrong (I dont' think it is but you never know...)

I love my little Quetzal, though. He's neat looking XD

Out of curiosity, what colors of larvae does everyone else have?

Some pictures of Quetzal...and his tankmates. If anyone can tell me anything about his coloring and eyes (if it's strange or normal) please let me know!

Also, I'd love to see everyone elses axies :)

I think Quetzal is actually a wild type, but I could be wrong :)

Really? That would be cool! I got them from my friend in the science lab, and was told that they should all be leucistic but I don't think they're exactly careful about what colors breed so it's possible.

It's be awesome too because my friend wants this one (she gave him that name) and she likes the wild-types better than the leucistic coloring.

Hey everyone, just want a little advice. Its 55 - 60 celcius in my Salamanders tank. Hes curled up and tyring ti bury himself, Im assuming hes too cold. I was wondering if he would benefit from a heated rock cave (since he LOVES his cave) that I could set on low? I NEVER see him curled up and trying to bury himself unless his tank sits at 63 degrees celcius or lower. So I am assuming hes a little uncomfortable.

He also seems a little sluggish, again, assuming hes cold. Having heating trouble with the new house right now. What do we think? Was thinking of grabbing this for him since its got very low, medium, and higher medium heat settings that exude heat downward inside the rock cave but ALSO exudes it UPWARDS outside of the rock cave, effectively keeping the tank itself a little warm. Seems like it miiiight be a little small for him though, my guy is about 7 inches from tip of his nose tothe tip of his tail.
