Axolotl Blackwater Tank?

Has anyone ever tried a blackwater tank set up for an axolotl? The usual set up would obviously have to be modified to account for cold water and harder pH... But could it even be done? I've been thinking ahead to the day I move my current crew in to larger tanks and have just recently discovered blackwater tanks. They seem like something that could be amazing homes for axolotls, if done right. Any opinions?

I have a dark water tank for my axies but I don't think I'd do it again. I was really excited about it at first and it looked great but after my axies rearranged to their liking and leaf bits started going everywhere it lost its glamour. However I DO think the axies seem to like it if you're up for extra maintenance/ don't mind when it gets messy.
