Axolotl biting himself?

Hey!
I'm fairly new to axie care, over the last few days I have noticed a good chunk of his tail missing. It is not getting any bigger, there isn't anything in his tank to cause damage. Could he be biting his own tail? What can I do to prevent this? He's alone in a 20 gal tank.

I really doubt that, can you take some pictures of your tank and Axolotl ?

Ill tru and get some loaded to my computer today. I cant post pics from my phone. Hes also not eating today....im a bit worried. Water is cool enough, im getting a little worried, probably over paranoid

Can you post the test results for your Ammonia, Nitrites, NitrAtes and PH ??

What is the water temperature?
