Axolotls have gummy stumps more so than teeth - think of the mouth of a baby, a bit like that! They don't really have the need for teeth being as they just inhale everything. The 'stumps' are just there to create a bit of friction between 'lotl and nomnoms (food!) while they're inhaling. I have never caught anything from bites, scratches, etc from any of my animals (especially the phibs) so don't panic, you are not going to loose your arm, catch a deadly disease or turn into a giant axolotl. But like with any scrape, be sensible and keep it clean!
