Hello everyone!
I’ve noticed that my little Axi’s tail has begun tearing apart. I will attach a picture but basically it looks as if somehow it’s been biting it (I do not believe that’s the case however since I’ve not once noticed such thing happening). There are no sharp objects and regular water changes are being made. I have not noticed any signs of untypical behavior (stress for instance) and its appetite is completely fine. But some small pieces fall off from time to time. I’m starting to seriously worry. Thank you all in advance!

P.S I was utterly unsure how to title this thread so excuse my wording if it doesn’t match the problem.

I've had similar issues in the past (same as you, no sharp or abrasive objects whatsoever) and have somewhat come to the conclusion that the ends of their tails are just very delicate and I think it happens when they are startled and move very quickly within a confined space. I would recommend using a larger tank (that helped a LOT with mine) and try to avoid startling it with things like sudden movements, lights, vibrations, etc. Double check everything in the tank again to see if there's anything you can sand down, but I think more space is the key.

Thank you insanely much for the advice! I’m going to make sure she/he has some more hiding areas since I think my room’s lights are a tad bit annoying and I’ve only put a big mug as decor.
